Other Information:David enlisted for general service on 30th August 1914, he was 21 years and 240 days old and a slate miner by trade. He was attached to the 70th Field Ambulance and embarked with his unit at Southampton on 26th August 1915, disembarking the next day at Havre, he entered the war in France on 27th August 1915. David was promoted to Lance Corporal on 24th July 1915. He was admitted into his unit on 9th January 1916, with tonsillitis, but was discharged back to duty three days later. Then on the 6th April he was admitted again suffering from Influenza. He was evacuated to No 22 Casualty Clearing Station, where he died at 3.45 p.m. on the 14th April from acute ascending paralysis.
